Directors Guillermo
Del Toro and Jeannot Szwarc honor
Rod Serling's Night Gallery Part One
For
this journey, the TV Time Machine
travels back to 1970-the year in which
TV audiences began a series of horrific
weekly excursions through an eerie
art gallery, courtesy of legendary
television writer, Rod Serling.
In this, the first part of a two-hour
interview and tribute to Rod Serling's
Night Gallery, we are honored to be
joined by two extraordinary directors,
Guillermo Del Toro and Jeannot Szwarc.
Guillermo Del Toro is one of the industry's
top film directors, helming the Academy
Award-winning Pan's Labyrinth and
the upcoming Hobbit movies. A lifelong
fan of Night Gallery, Mr. Del Toro's
audio commentary can be heard in the
upcoming DVD release of Rod Serling's
Night Gallery Season Two.
Night
Gallery's most prolific director,
Jeannot Szwarc was responsible for
many of the finest episodes of the
series, including the classic segment,
The Caterpillar-hailed by Stephen
King as the most frightening TV episode
ever. He also directed the classic
fantasy film Somewhere in Time and
dozens of TV series including Kojak,
Columbo and Heroes.
And
don't miss the second hour of this
extraordinary interview...coming soon
on TV Time Machine!
